<p>Each component might be small and relatively unremarkable on its own. When combined, however, they can form enormous, fantastically complex ecosystems of information.</p>

<p>In other words, React apps are made out of components, but what makes React special isn&#x27;t the components themselves. What makes React special is the ways in which components interact.</p><p>Apply a Component in a Render Function</p><p>You&#x27;ve never seen a component rendered by another component before.</p>

<p>You have seen a component rendered before, though, but not by another component. Instead, you&#x27;ve seen a component rendered by <strong><samp>ReactDOM.render()</samp></strong>.</p>

<p>When a component renders another component, what happens is very similar to what happens when <samp><strong>ReactDOM.render() </strong></samp>renders a component.</p>

<p>If your using React.js, JavaScript files present in your application simply aren&#x27;t visible to other JavaScript files. This is the default setting and it can lead to major problems down the road, the code snippet below depicts one of them.</p>

<p>In the code snippet above we&#x27;ve added an instance of the NavBar component class. However, the fact that you&#x27;re current working in Profile.js But since you&#x27;re in ProfilePage.js, JavaScript has no idea what NavBar means.</p>

<p>When developers feel the need to use a variable that&#x27;s present in a different file they&#x27;ll need to import the said variable.</p>

<p>In the last lesson we couldn&#x27;t use <strong><samp>NavBar </samp></strong>because it was declared in a different file. Now, we&#x27;ll use the import statement to use <strong><samp>NavBar</samp></strong>.</p>

<p>The logic behind <strong>import </strong>is the following: the string at the end starts with either a slash or a dot, thus, that string will act as a <strong>filepath</strong>.</p><p>The improt statement will follow the file path and import them.</p>
